Auxilium Recovery Network offers participants professional, NDIS funded Disability Related Health Assessments prepared by our in-house Clinical Nurse Specialist. These include:
Continence Assessments
Convenient in-home and telehealth continence assessments to help people better understand and manage their health conditions, so they can live their best lives with confidence.
A continence assessment can help identify the cause of a person’s control issues so they can get the care and support required to manage incontinence. These assessments are carried out by Continence Nurse Specialists who are qualified and experienced in bladder and bowel management, depending on the health condition. Auxilium Recovery Network can provide you nursing assessments for urinary incontinence, bowel incontinence or both.
Falls Assessments
Auxilium offers Falls Assessments to help those at most significant risk. We tailor our services to fit the unique circumstances of each of our participants. Therefore our evaluations of people who are more active and independent differ from what we have for those who are less active or more dependent, with the purpose of determining how likely it is that a person will fall (i.e. low, medium or high level of risk).
Our Falls Assessments will include an initial screening that looks at your overall health and medical history. Our Clinical Nurse Specialist will then examine your stability while standing and walking, establishing the outcome through various tests. Furthermore, your vision, lower limb strength, simple reaction time, posture and dynamic balance will also be evaluated, making our tests reliable with highly accurate results.
Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA)
A Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) is an NDIS recognised evaluation tool which is completed by our qualified Clinical Nurse Specialist, outlining a participant’s ability to perform daily activities. FCAs identify areas where support is requires and assesses various aspects of daily living, such as:
- Self-care
- Communication
- Social interaction
- Learning
- Mobility
- Self-management skills
The purpose of a FCA is to:
- Understand the impact of a participant’s disability on their ability to perform everyday tasks;
- Help the NDIS to allocate appropriate support and funding to ensure that the participant is able to live a meaningful life;
- Include recommendations for support and intervention;
- Be used by NDIS planners to tailor the participant’s support plan, as required.
